Style Me Saturday: Packing for Boston

I recently received this email from reader Lacy:

"I am a 30 yr. old stay at home mom who is taking a trip to Boston with my hubs sans children!!! Would like some suggestions on day & night looks that aren't too expensive. While we are sight seeing, going to a Red Sox game, & doing some other typical touristy things...we are also going to several super nice restaurants as well. Living in the south where there are only two seasons..chilly and super hot...is making me a little worried regarding how to pack for chilly spring weather....any guidance you may have would be greatly appreciated."

To start, I checked the average weather for April in Boston on the Weather Channel and found that it's typically in the mid 60's. I wanted to make sure Lacy would be able to stay warm, but also wanted layers to give her the option to remove a jacket or sweater if it warms up throughout the day. As always, click on any photo for more information or to purchase!

For sightseeing/daytime I kept it casual with some skinny jeans and either a tunic style top or a ruffled tank and a cardigan + flats. This would be perfect for everything from shopping to a baseball game...casual but still put together (the mint tank does come in other colors).

For casual evening out options (a low key bar or restaurant that doesn't require a dress), I put together some dressier tops with a wider leg jean (any of these tops would work with the skinny jeans in the first set - I wanted to include both types in case she preferred one over the other). You could pair any of these looks with pumps, wedges, or flats - just throw on a blazer and you're good to go!

For a nice evening out, I wanted to include dresses that were travel friendly (the less ironing the better, right?) and I think either of these dresses would be perfect! (Note: Two of the dresses I originally sent to Lacy are now sold out, so I substituted them with a couple other options I found.)

And finally, accessories! Any of these items will go with the clothing in the sets above. I threw in a hobo style bag, which is nice to have when traveling, and a silver wallet which can double as a clutch when she goes out for the evening. I also added a trench because it's spring and it's always nice to have a light jacket handy. (Note: The Express bag is NOT sold out, not sure why it says that under the photo of the bag.)
