"I bought this skirt from Forever 21 before Christmas. It looks great on me, but I have no idea how to wear it! Black tights look cool under it, but after that I ran out of ideas. I'd love it of you and the other readers could help me, so that it's not just another piece of clothing in my closet that I don't wear."
I came up with some ideas to style this skirt for both fall/winter as well as spring/summer so Marcie can get the maximum wear out of this adorable tiered skirt.
For the fall/winter look I tried to build off of the comment that Marcie wanted to pair this skirt with tights, so I went with a fitted black tee (tucked in), a silver and black twisted necklace, opaque black tights, and faux suede black ankle boots (you could also do black pumps if ankle boots aren't your style).
Details:
Martin and Osa tee ($14.50 on sale)
Forever 21 necklace ($6.80)
Forever 21 Tiered skirt ($19.80)
Apt. 9 Opaque Black Tights ($10)
Foldover ankle boot ($24.80)
For the warmer months, I thought this outfit would look cute with a cream tank that has a subtle embellished neckline (tucked in again), along with sparkly sandals and some bold earrings. You could also pair it with a grey vneck tee from American Apparel and or some flats or flip flops depending on the weather and your footwear preference. I included the blazer that you could throw on if the weather is a little chilly, but a cardigan would also work.
Details:
Forever 21 Blazer ($29.80)
Lucca Couture Embellished Tank ($28) - also comes in black or grey
Forever 21 Tiered Skirt ($19.80)
Forever 21 Disc Earrings ($3.80) - also available in silver
Yellow Box Sandals ($51.99) - also available in several other colors

I agree with the blazer idea-- My fave thing is offsetting a feminine item with a more masculine one, so the mix of the pink ruffles with a menswear-inspired blazer is fantastic!

I have that skirt, and love it. I do it similar to #1, with a black cami tucked in and a black cardigan over it and black pumps, also added a fun necklace. :)
Ooo, GREAT new feature J! Your blog just gets better & better! Now if I could just figure out how to get pictures & links up (so NOT tech savvy *sigh*)
Justine -Thanks, glad you like how I styled it! I like pairing masculine and feminine items together as well.
Kylie - Sounds cute!
Inday - Thanks, I'm so glad you like the new feature. :)
ok I like this new category... I like how you styled it a lot!
Adding to the black tight, I would have used some sexy black pumps and maybe a cute top, to give it a mod/preppy look... I'll look for something and come back :)
Yay, thanks girls! I'll defintely keep an eye out for those items when I'm out shopping!
Jen, thanks again for featuring my skirt!
